On June 27, the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Welding Innovation Development Forum 2026, co-hosted by Zhuhai Welding Association, Guangdong Welding Industry Association and Welding Branch of Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society, concluded successfully. Centered on the theme Innovation of Thick Plate Welding Processes and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Application, the forum gathered industry experts, university scholars and business leaders to explore technological trends and industrial implementation, supporting high-quality development of the equipment manufacturing sector.

The forum featured 14 high-value keynote reports covering frontier fields including embodied intelligent welding robots, thick plate laser welding, high-power electron beam technology, intelligent welding monitoring systems and collaborative robots, attracting wide participation from professionals across shipbuilding, steel structure, petrochemical and energy power industries. Guo Lijun, General Manager of Cowin Welding, delivered closing remarks on behalf of the organizers.

Coinciding with Cowin Welding’s 30th anniversary, the Cowin Welding Night gala was held the same evening. Company founder and Chairman Su Yanxiong reviewed the enterprise’s three-decade development journey. A special tribute session was staged to honor national welding masters: Fan Zhiqin, a national master craftsman from Taiyuan Heavy Industry, shared frontline welding stories in a talk-show style, and waterjet-carved master reliefs were presented as a unique tribute to craftsmanship.

Supporting programs included an on-site industrial exhibition, field visits to Cowin Welding headquarters and KUKA’s Shunde campus, plus a VIP delegation visit to the 29th Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting Fair, building a multi-channel docking platform for the entire welding industrial chain.

Focused on thick plate welding innovation and intelligent upgrading, the forum has deepened technical exchanges and industrial collaboration. The organizers thanked all participants and looked forward to the next edition.
